Declutter Your Home & Declutter Your Mind

Average Americans spend one year of their life looking for lost or misplaced items, according to U.S. News and World Report. Imagine how an organized home could add value into your life by cultivating calm and efficiency! Your decluttered and organized home will save you time while maximizing efficiency – not to mention enhancing visual appeal.

Most people believe organization is a trait or talent that one either possesses or doesn’t. At MG Home Organizing, we subscribe to the philosophy that anyone can be taught if given the right tools for success. There is no one-size-fits-all solution. Organization is all about finding strategies that work for each individual person and/or family. What works in one home might not work in another.

As a professional organizer, I understand that life can be messy. My personal goal is to find solutions to make your busy life work smoothly. Organizing is one of my passions, and helping people is another! I thrive on creating unique solutions for people, delivering ease of mind and efficiency into clients’ homes. The goals of each client are unique to them, no matter what stage of life or situation. Here are a few questions I’ve gotten from clients along the way.

When is a good time to start? The start of this new season often generates the desire to begin spring cleaning, or spring decluttering. Perhaps you had a resolution that this would be the year to tackle your closet or garage. It can be difficult to get started and know how to begin. We can guide you through those beginning steps so you can live your best life with a little less stress. We will be there through any step of the process as you’re ready to make progress.

I’m moving. Could you help me organize my new home? Absolutely! Moving can be an overwhelming process. However, unpacking after a move or even a renovation is often the best time to start. Have you moved items (or even moving boxes) into your new home that were not unpacked from a previous move? I hear this all too often. To save you from duplicating efforts down the road, we will work with you to filter out what is not needed, making your new home more enjoyable from the start!

Imagine the relief of someone unpacking one or more of the core areas (kitchen, bedroom, closet, etc) so that you can resume life sooner and begin enjoying your new home! As experienced organizers, we are able to evaluate the items that you own and strategically arrange them in your cupboards, drawers, and closets in a logical and organized manner. We are confident that they’ll be situated in a way that will work well for your family.

I want to downsize, but how will you decide what to purge?

Throughout our lives we acquire. Some of this is from our own purchases, whether essential or nonessential. Some of this is from things given to us, whether desired or not. At MG Home Organizing, we understand that some belongings are very special, but we have methods for sifting out what is not. We organize every room in a home: basements, kitchens, pantries, playrooms, closets, bedrooms, bathrooms, garages, etc. We would leave no corner of the world unorganized if we could!

I’m nervous about starting. What advice can you offer? Having someone in your home can be daunting at times. However, you will never be judged. Spaces that may seem embarrassing to you are a way to engage my mind and offer solutions. All too often the things inside our home make us feel overwhelmed and complicate our lives. We all have reasons for the buildup of things. Rest assured that you can be involved in any part of the filtering process. Together we will determine what frustrates you about your space, what works well for you, and what changes would be beneficial.

With just a few pictures and a little background information, I can provide a general cost estimate for your project. I can’t wait to hear your story!
